Wagamama has always been popular. All you have to do is look at the queue of people outside the door.
Until recently, I hadn’t actually been to the Wagagama in Oxford. Honestly, it never really appealed to me and I have always preferred something else. However, on my most recent visit I was totally won over by the fresh and tasty food.
Expect to queue for at least 10 minutes for a table – I can assure you the wait is worth it. I’ve never had to wait longer than that because the turn around is pretty quick.
Once seated, I browsed the menu looking for something ‘different’ to try. Me and JB decided to share two starters of prawn and pork Dimsum – one steamed and the other fried.
They arrived at the table pretty sharpish, but this didn’t compromise the flavour. I really enjoyed them, in fact, I am not usually a ‘prawn eater’ but I have to admit the prawn Dimsum was good.
For mains I went for my beloved Chicken Ramen soup – just so good! Fresh vegetables and tasty chicken in the most delicious broth. JB opted for his favourite (and many others by the looks of it), Chicken Katsu curry with sticky rice. I did have a taste of the sauce and it was also really tasty.
Eating at Wagamama is so quick and easy. The service is prompt and friendly, and the menu offers a wide selection of different dishes to suit all, at a reasonable price. Don’t expect cheap as chips, but it is affordable.
Again, as long as you don’t mind the little wait for a table, you can be sat and eating delicious food within 10-15 minutes!
