Oxford eats | Street Thai food at its best!

It’s quite rare to have a big time restaurant open in Oxford, so when ‘Thaikun‘ opened a few months, it was virtually impossible to get a table reservation without plenty of notice.

We booked our table  weeks in advance and I could not wait to eat here! The exterior of the restaurant is so attractive and you can see right inside which is even better. The funky wall ‘made’ made out of Coca-Cola cans and ‘bath tub’ seats  – this place is quirky.

The menu is really varied and there’s pretty much something for everybody.

There were 4 of us eating here so I had a good opportunity to try a few different things. I order the chicken spring rolls for my starter and they were just… wow. Immense.

The one thing that may put you off this place is how busy it is. It’s not the one for quiet and romantic dinners. This place is buzzing with a great atmosphere and some people even opt to sit at the bar indulge in the cocktails.

For my main, I went number 30. on the menu (see above)  – stir fried chicken in garlic and pepper with a side of rice noodles. It’s fair to say my main dish was the best on the table with everyone agreeing the flavours were just amazing.

In terms of price of price, it is very reasonable. Not overpriced at all, in my opinion. The service is slightly slow, but again, the place is so busy you kind of expect it. This in no way affected our meal though.

I will definitely be eating here again very soon!
